CFI President Charlene Locke
Charlene has a long lineage in the carpet business, with her paternal grandmother and aunt being carpet seamers for commercial retailers and installers dating back to the 1930’s. Charlene followed in the footsteps of the other strong Locke women when she entered the, predominately male run, industry in the late 1970’s, as owner of Sequoia Cleaning, Inc. a full-service operation located in the heart of Silicon Valley.
Charlene bases her success, in this highly competitive industry, to hard work, her very loyal team and the support of membership organizations like CFI. Her longevity in an ever-changing competitive market has been enhanced by CFI’s dedication to support its members, promote growth, and empower the business owner in ways only a membership organization can. CFI moto “Strength through Association” is one component that Charlene applies to her business model.
Charlene is the 2017 recipient of the CFI “Bill Bailey” award which is designed to perpetuate the memory of one of our industry pioneers. This award is given to a member of our industry who gives of themselves for the benefit of others in our industry. This award has great meaning to Charlene, since her aunt was an employee of Bill & Mary Bailey, and Charlene personally knew and admired the Bailey’s for their contribution to our industry. The “Bill Baily” award reflects, CFI moto “Strength through Association”, and is one component that Charlene applies to her business model for success and gratification.
To give back to the CFI organization and membership, Charlene is proud to serve as CFI President. Charlene will be challenging every member to get involved in CFI. CFI is your association and voice. Your involvement reaps rewards and builds the foundation for your own lineage. Get involved today!
